This change course proposal is well justified. The course content has been updated in line with the amended focus.
Please attend to the following issues with the syllabi:
-The on-campus syllabus indicates the course is 4 credits.
-Both syllabi should describe how time will be spent on activities in class, out of class, and online that correspond to 3 credits. For example, on-campus syllabi should indicate the days/times the course meets.
-Please update the DAS statement on the ecampus syllabus.

This course meets the DPD course requirements and the name change makes a lot of sense.

Please note that when putting together the final version of the syllabus, the DPD Bacc Core Statement must be included verbatim.

An observation/suggestion: As currently structured, a student might easily read the course as meeting 12 different learning outcomes (three DPD/3 Social processes/+ 6 additional ones), which presents a great challenge pedagogically. In reality, the learning outcomes overlap in multiple ways, therefore my suggestion is to craft language to help students recognize these overlaps, in ways that allow for deeper understanding, and a greater sense of the course as manageable.

Approved.
Both Ecampus & Corvallis syllabi: Please update the conduct links as they've again been changed since you submitted.
Corvallis syllabus refers to course as 4-credits in the time commitment section - Please correct that. We'd also recommend copying the style of the Learning outcome-activities-assessment table that appears in the ECampus syllabus.
ECampus syllabus - Our suggestion is to insert the word "online" in your classroom conduct section.

Proposal

Proposal ID: 101973
Type: Change Course
Effective Term: Spring 2018
Justification:
The original title of this course "Violence Against Women" does not capture the objectives of the class. The course addresses a variety of forms of violence against gendered individuals and not only "women." The new title reflects the breadth of focus of the course on violence against cisgender women and men, trans individuals, and those resisting contemporary gender categories. In addition, the new title "Resisting Gender Violence" emphasizes the ways the course explores strategies for resistance and change. In addition, because the class already aligns so well with the mission of certain categories of the baccalaureate core, we hope to encourage student enrollment through articulation of baccalaureate core learning in this course.
