Proposal

Proposal ID: 106789
Type: Change Course
Submission Date: April 16, 2019 4:29pm
Approval Date: May 10, 2019 4:29pm
Effective Term: Fall 2019
Justification:
The Math department recently decided to replace the 10-week, 4 credit course MTH 306 (Matrix and Power Series Methods) with two 5-week, 2 credit courses: MTH 264 (Introduction to Matrix Algebra) and MTH 265 (Introduction to Series). Accordingly, this proposal replaces the current MTH 361 prerequisite of MTH 306 with (MTH 265 or MTH 306). A prerequisite of MTH 264 is not needed for MTH 361, since matrix algebra is not used in the course.
Comments:
This change in prerequisites for MTH 361 has been approved by the Math department's Undergraduate Curriculum Committee and by the Probability Curricular Group.
